I once had a pair of colored contacts that shifted noticeably with every blink. My left lens was fine. My right lens moved constantly. I assumed the lens was defective. It was not. The base curve was correct but the lens was inside out and my eye was producing extra tears because of seasonal allergies. Two simple fixes solved a problem I had been tolerating for a week.
Check If the Lens Is Inside Out
Place the lens on your fingertip. If the edges curve upward like a bowl, it is correct. If they flare outward like a saucer, flip it before insertion. An inside-out lens cannot form a proper seal against your cornea and shifts with every eye movement. This is the cause of “moving lens” complaints about half the time.
Check Your Blink Pattern
Incomplete blinking — where your eyelids do not fully close — leaves a gap between your upper eyelid and the lens surface. This gap allows the lens to shift upward each time you blink. The fix is conscious full blinking for a day or two until your normal blink pattern adjusts. It sounds too simple to work. It works.
Dryness Causes Lenses to Slip

If Everything Above Checks Out
